If your ductwork is in the attic, we seal the underside of the roof deck so it sits inside the seal. If it isn't, the attic floor can be sealed instead. Foam can be left exposed up there.

We spray open walls in new builds, additions and remodels. Open cell also dampens sound. Closed cell adds a vapor barrier and strength.

Closed cell is a moisture barrier, a vapor barrier and an air barrier in one layer. Surfaces have to be below 8% moisture before we spray.

Closed cell can be sprayed directly on steel, and we strongly recommend a coating over it. Open cell only goes on OSB or a proper liner.
Thickness is the minimum we spray. R-values are for UPC 500 open cell and UPC 2.0 HFO closed cell, from the manufacturer's code compliance reports, at that thickness.
