How we do it.

Metal and liner rules still apply.Closed cell can go directly on metal. Open cell goes on OSB or a proper liner, never bare metal.
Living space gets covered foam.Foam in the living areas needs to be covered or coated.
Built around your schedule.On a new barndominium, we come in after electrical with one to two weeks' notice.

R-value measures how well insulation holds back heat. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. Ask your seller for the fact sheet on R-values. R-values are for UPC 500 open cell and UPC 2.0 HFO closed cell, from the manufacturer's code compliance reports, at the thickness shown. Closed cell is rigid and also blocks moisture; open cell is softer and dampens sound. We choose the foam for each job. See the data sheets

Questions.

Can the foam be left exposed?

In an attic or other non-living space, yes. Some jobs call for a coating or paint over exposed foam, and in living space it needs to be covered or coated. We'll tell you which applies when we quote.

When do you come in on a new build?

After electrical. We need one to two weeks' notice to get you on the schedule.

How long before we can go back inside?

Contractors can go back in after 12 hours. Homeowners after 24 hours.
