How we do it.
- Closed cell, 2 inches or more.It seals air and blocks moisture in one layer.
- Dry wood only.Moisture has to be below 8% before we spray.
- Clear access.We spray from 18 to 24 inches away, so the area along the rim joist needs to be clear.
- No mess.Everything nearby is covered in plastic first.

R-value measures how well insulation holds back heat. Higher is better. Closed cell is rigid and also blocks moisture; open cell is softer and dampens sound. Ranges are from Universal Polymers (UPC) data sheets, tested at 1 inch. We choose the foam for each job. See the data sheets

Can you spray wet or cold surfaces?
No. Moisture has to be below 8%, and spray foam is temperature sensitive, so we check conditions first.
Will there be a mess?
No. We cover everything in plastic, and the area has to be cleared so we can prep it.
How long before we can go back inside?
Contractors can go back in after 12 hours. Homeowners after 24 hours.
